Curtis Westersund, DDS
TMJ.today – President

“The effects of dental problems are not always restricted to the mouth. Most people are not aware that dental problems could affect their entire body or even their life. My mission is not only to take care of oral health but also to protect overall health.

I feel like a ‘dental pioneer’ because the neuromuscular science that defines TMD treatment is still very much in motion. The more you know, the more you learn the more there is to learn. I have helped many people recover from TMJ disorders with heart warming results, but I have also seen cases where I have been scratching my head with the complex and multi-factural nature of the symptoms. I am very aware that ‘TMJ Treatment’ is far from ‘there’ yet. The reason why I started TMJ.today is to ignite a conversation on multiple platforms, to promote more research, provide education, and ultimately to make help possible for all those people who suffer from TMJ related symptoms.

When you are a TMJ practitioner: I encourage you to join the conversation and learn more about neuromuscular treatments.
When you are a TMJ patient: I can tell you that there is help. On this website, you can find a TMJ practitioner in your area.”

“I never intended to be a ‘Dental’ marketer, it just happened. About 15 years ago I was introduced to Dr. Curtis Westersund. First he became a client, then a close friend. His help has been instrumental to building a successful dental marketing company with dozens of US and Canadian clients.

I have always been intrigued by TMJ related symptoms and treatments, because both my wife and I were TMJ patients ourselves. Curtis changed our lives by restoring and realigning our bites successfully. When he asked us to develop an International platform for TMJ.today, we were ‘in’ immediately. TMJ.today provides insight, knowledge, and help to everyone affected by TMJ issues, and should motivate healthcare providers to learn more about temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJ-D).

To all TMJ patients: Share your stories with us.
To all TMJ practitioners: Help us, to help more TMJ patients.”
